“Health Care Reform-What it Means to You”

The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce and JC Blair Memorial Hospital are hosting the event “Health Care Reform-What it Means to You” on Wednesday, September 1 at the JC Blair Memorial Hospital Education Center from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event will focus on how health care reform affects businesses. It is being co-sponsored by Huntingdon County CareerLink, Huntingdon County Business & Industry, Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau.

Pennsylvania loses out in bid for federal education funds

April 8th, 2010

Pennsylvania was not one of two states chosen to receive federal education grants, which were part of last year’s economic stimulus package. The “Race to the Top” funds were awarded to Tennessee and Delaware. Pennsylvania ranked seventh among 41 states that were competing for the $4.35 billion in education reform grant funding. Pennsylvania will try again in the fall.

Education Committee Presents Marketing Workshop

Janet Chambers, president of Beacon Marketing Solutions, presented “How to Market Your Business on a Limited Budget” to a packed house in the multi-purpose room of the Raystown Lake Region Visitors Center on April 22.
