Chris and Jackie Conferreceived the Huntingdon County Community Improvement Award in the Commerical Category. The Confer’s partnered with Mt Union businessman Ralph Parks to redevelop a former Mt Union hardware store into a restaurant and fitness center.
This project is a good example of neighborhood revitalization and sustainable development within the existing community. Renovation work began in August 2008, with completion in April 2009. 
Sponsored bythe Huntingdon County Planning Commission, County Chamber and Kish Bank, the winners of the 5th Annual Community Improvement Award were announced at the HCPC Annual Meeting March 10, 2009.
